Who created BTCB?
BTCB is tokenized Bitcoin that has been converted into a BEP2 asset on the Binance Smart Chain and was created by Binance, under the leadership of its founder and CEO, Changpeng Zhao, who is known by the nickname CZ in the crypto community. As Bitcoin is becoming more difficult to move and transfer due to high transaction fees, Binance created BTCB to make Bitcoin more practical and allow holders access to the Defi ecosystem. Changpeng Zhao is a computer science expert who grew up in Canada and gained his degree at McGill University in Montreal. CZ also founded BijieTech in 2015 and retains his position there as CEO. Before founding BijieTech, Zhao co-founded OKCoin, and launched his own futures platform at around the same time. His previous positions also include working as the head of the technology department at Blockchain.info. In 2017, he officially launched Binance.
