GRT is an Ethereum-based token used to power The Graph protocol. The Graph protocol is a decentralized system for querying and indexing data from outside blockchains. The indexed information is grouped together into open APIs called subgraphs, which are open to the public to query. This creates open-source transparency and improves the ability of outside monitors to verify transactions indexed this way.

The Graph is mainly useful for teams that need convenient and reliable indexing and public-query services. In the past, this was a custom design job for anyone who needed it, as no off-the-shelf system was available. By adding The Graph to a project or transaction protocol, developer teams can access data from the external world, outside the blockchain ecosystems. Because The Graph is decentralized, it avoids the common dangers of routing transaction records through a proprietary server bank or centralized data center.

Who created GRT?

The Graph was developed by Yaniv Tal and Brandon Ramirez, working with tech lead Jannis Pohlmann in 2017. The protocol saw limited release in July of that year and was ready for a full launch in December. The first round of funding was finished in April 2018, and the open-sourced Graph Node was ready for launch in July, just one year after the initial work was done for the beta release.

How do I exchange and Trade the Graph?

GRT users can exchange the token on any platform that supports the currency. Converting the Graph tokens into USD requires that the exchange offer both options. GRT transfers are fundamentally similar to exchanging any other crypto coin.

The Graph is relatively new among cryptocurrencies, so it is not supported by as many exchanges as larger, older currencies, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. Rubix uses the latest security measures to keep all of your GRT transactions instant, safe and reliable.
