Who created KSM?
As a pre-production environment for Polkadot, Kusama was founded in 2016 by the same team, creators Gavin Wood, Peter Czaban, and Robert Habermeier. Wood is also the president of Web3 Foundation, the non-profit organization that conducted Polkadot’s token sales, which raised roughly $200 million from investors.
Previously a research scientist at Microsoft, Wood co-founded Ethereum and invented Solidity, a statically-typed programming language designed to develop smart contracts that run on the Ethereum Virtual Machine. In 2015, he founded Parity Technologies, a company that maintains the software development framework, Substrate, used by Kusama developers to create parachains.
How do I exchange and trade Kusama?
Due to its alignment with the Polkadot community, Kasama’s native token, the KSM, is available through the Kasama and Polkadot networks, offering tokens to users who purchased DOT during its initial coin offering.
