Who created SUSHI?
The SushiSwap platform launched in August 2020. It was created by someone going by the pseudonym Chef Nomi, and was a fork of Uniswap. The fork created some controversy, not least because Chef Nomi competed against Uniswap aggressively, going to great lengths to drain the Uniswap liquidity pool in an attempt to make SushiSwap the primary DEX on the Ethereum blockchain.
After a controversial launch, Chef Nomi handed over control of SushiSwap to Sam Bankman-Fried of FTX and Alameda Research. Control has since been further decentralized, being passed to a group of community members, with many major decisions being made through the voting platform. Liquidity and activity on SushiSwap and the related Miso platform remain high.
