The cryptocurrency craze started off with Bitcoin, a decentralized digital currency that revolutionized how people traded monetary assets. Since then, many new cryptocurrencies have emerged, such as eCash (a unique digital asset derived from a fork of Bitcoin). Rubix helps users buy, sell and trade eCash by providing an accessible, safe and easy-to-use online platform. Read on to learn more about the history of eCash and how Rubix facilitates trades.
eCash (XEC) is a form of digital currency intended for transactions. More specifically, it is utilized to buy goods and services (similar to traditional currency). It was originally called Bitcoin Cash ABC, which was a fork of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. However, it was rebranded in 2021 after a few integral changes were made. These include a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus layer, increased speed and a simpler interface.
The biggest factor that differentiates XEC from Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCAH) is the PoS consensus layer, Avalanche (not to be confused with AVAX, the smart contracts platform). In addition to validating transactions, it has helped improve the speed of purchases, sales and transactions. eCash also reduced its decimal points to just two (as opposed to eight, which is the number of decimals Bitcoin has). This change has helped make exchanges (and the cryptocurrency itself) less confusing and more appealing to newer owners.
Who created XEC?
XEC was created by Amaury Sechet, a software engineer and developer with extensive experience in cryptocurrency. He made Bitcoin Cash (BCH) before developing its fork: Bitcoin Cash ABC. Although BCHA was made in late 2020, it was months before eCash was created. In July 2021, Sechet decided to rebrand BCHA to eCash by reducing the decimal places.
When developing eCash, Sechet aimed to retain the positive features of Bitcoin while improving any negatives. For example, he kept the fixed supply model of Bitcoin but incorporated his own PoS consensus. In the future, Sechet (and his team of developers) hope that eCash will be compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
How do I exchange and trade eCash?
To acquire XEC, many people go on to an exchange to buy and trade cryptocurrencies. This is a great way to expand your portfolio of digital assets and get involved in different trades. Alternatively, some owners might choose to cash their XEC out for the equivalent USD value (especially if it has increased in value since the purchase).
So, how exactly do you exchange eCash? The easiest way to initiate trades is by using an exchange platform like Rubix. Accessible through both web and mobile devices, Rubix connects users to an easy to use trading platform which supports safe and fast transactions.
